BTS to Appear at Gwanghwamun… Major Special Performance Teased

Global pop icons BTS will appear at Gwanghwamun Square in the heart of Seoul for a major special performance. The stage, set in this symbolic space where Korea's tradition and modernity coexist, is drawing attention from around the world.

According to industry sources, the Gwanghwamun performance was planned for BTS to express gratitude to their global fandom and to showcase Korea's distinctive aesthetic to the world. A specially built stage will showcase spectacular performances that blend cutting‑edge production with Korean elements, building excitement to fever pitch.

With record‑breaking crowds expected, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and relevant authorities have begun implementing thorough safety measures. Systematic safety management plans are being put into operation, including traffic controls around the venue and measures to spread out pedestrian traffic, and positive knock‑on effects, including a significant economic boost and increased international visitors, are also anticipated.

Experts predict that this Gwanghwamun performance will be a historic cultural festival that goes beyond a mere pop music event and reaffirms the stature of K-pop.

Alongside this, Seoul as a whole will be transformed into a hub of diverse cultural festivities. In line with the performance schedule, the 'BTS The City Arirang Seoul' event will run from the 20th of this month until the 12th of next month. In particular, during the festival the National Museum Cultural Foundation's brand 'MUZE' will release special BTS collaboration merchandise. Shoulder bags, card holders and hair clips inspired by the motifs of the national treasure, the Bell of King Seongdeok (Seongdeokdaewang Sinjong), will blend traditional Korean aesthetics with pop culture to offer a special experience for domestic and international visitors.
