Jennie, a member of the group BLACKPINK, has once again demonstrated her global impact by being named to TIME magazine's '100 Most Influential People' list.
According to the TIME list released on the 15th (local time), Jennie was proudly selected in the Artists category. TIME annually curates and publishes a selection of individuals who have exerted a significant influence on world affairs and culture. Through last year's solo album 'Ruby', Jennie achieved an unprecedented feat as the first female K-pop solo artist to place three songs simultaneously on the US Billboard's main singles chart, the Billboard Hot 100.
American singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams lavished praise in a tribute. Abrams said, 'To put it plainly, she is a perfect star,' adding, 'There is magic at the core of Jennie. She captivates people intensely, whether in a stadium packed with 100,000 people or even in the corridors behind the stage.'
This year's TIME list included, alongside Jennie, Korean-American pop star Anderson .Paak and Hollywood actor Dakota Johnson in the Artists category. The Icons category featured numerous Korean-descended figures such as snowboarder Chloe Kim and figure skater Alysa Liu, demonstrating the solid standing of K-culture.
Jennie was named among the '100 Most Influential People' alongside global leaders such as US President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV, an accolade that positions her beyond a mere K-pop idol and as a central icon leading the global cultural scene.
