Busan — International students from around the world will gather in Busan on 27 June 2026 for a large-scale cultural exchange festival at Busan Asiad Auxiliary Stadium, jointly organised by the Busan Cultural Foundation (BGCF) and Silla University. The festival will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
The festival will take place alongside Busan's flagship global K-pop and Korean Wave event, the Busan One Asia Festival (BOF). Organisers said the tie-up would give participants a broader, more vibrant introduction to Korean Wave culture.
Organisers say the festival was designed as a broad exchange platform to strengthen ties between international students and local residents and to bolster Busan's standing as a global hub city.
On site there will be a 'Busan Concept Zone' alongside a range of stage programmes and cultural experience activities. The main programmes are as follows.
Stage programmes: official opening and closing ceremonies, celebratory performances, a global talent show, a talk concert, special K-pop performances
'Challenge! Jiphyeonjeon Golden Bell': a survival-style Korean language and Korean culture quiz competition for international students
Experience zone: hanbok and other traditional culture experience booths, K-culture trend booths, a multicultural community hub
Food and events: an international food market, interactive field games, large-scale prize draws
A spokesperson for the festival organising committee said, "This festival will give international students and Busan residents a chance to share their cultures and connect with one another. Held in conjunction with BOF, we hope it will help showcase Busan to the world as an attractive city for global talent."
The event is open to international students residing in the country, as well as members of the public interested in global cultural exchange. Details such as shuttle bus routes, the full schedule and pre-registration procedures can be found on the official Instagram account (@bis.f_bgcf) and on the Busan Cultural Foundation website notice page (https://bgcf.or.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=notice&wr_id=601).
