TWICE have made history as the first K-pop girl group to win at the American Music Awards, widely regarded as one of the three major music awards ceremonies in the United States.
TWICE were named the winner in the 'Best Female K-Pop Artist' category at this year’s American Music Awards, held in Las Vegas on 25 May local time. It marked their first win at the ceremony after a second nomination.
The AMAs are regarded, alongside the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards, as one of the three major music awards ceremonies in the United States. Backed by overwhelming support from fans worldwide, the group — now in its 12th year since their debut — have once again demonstrated their enduring global influence.
Meanwhile, TWICE are on a large-scale European tour. They have completed concerts in major cities including Lisbon, Paris and Berlin, and will bring the European leg to a close with concerts in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on the 30th and 31st.
