NCT 127 to release seventh album 'Blingy' on the 24th as group marks 10th anniversary
K-pop group NCT 127, marking their 10th anniversary, will release their seventh studio album 'Blingy' on the 24th, presenting what the group calls the peak of its evolved 'Neo' swagger.
SM Entertainment described the title track 'Blingy' as "an intense hip‑hop song that features distorted synth sounds and a heavy drum beat," saying elements of 'rage' and dubstep have been reinterpreted in NCT 127's own colours to give the song a more fully realised sound.
The lyrics convey the group's pride in carving out a unique path in the K-pop scene over the past ten years, expressing a presence that burns like an unceasing flame and a firm confidence in their performances. Debuting in 2016 with 'Sobangcha (Fire Truck)' and later scoring hits including 'Yeongung (英雄; Kick It)' and 'Jilju (2 Baddies)', the group’s long-formed musical identity is reflected in the new track.
'Neo Pilot Crew' teaser puts NCT 127 over Seoul skyline
Teasers released ahead of the comeback have been met with an enthusiastic response from fans worldwide. The 'BLINGY JETS' concept, unveiled on the group's official social channels on the 6th and 7th, visualised a 'Neo Pilot Crew' motif inspired by a jet formation.
The material used detailed props — from the overwhelming visuals of a squadron of jets flying over Seoul's skyscrapers to member call signs and dog tags. Through this, the members, now in their tenth year since debut, showcased their strong unity and a free, unrestrained energy.
Meanwhile, the seventh studio album 'BLINGY', released across various online music platforms on the 24th, contains nine tracks across diverse genres, including the eponymous title track. The album underscores NCT 127's decade of teamwork and the group's musical ambitions for the future.
