ILLIT have hit major music charts at home and abroad with their new single 'It's Me', demonstrating their formidable global influence as TikTok posts featuring the track pass 600,000.
From Billboard to Oricon, ILLIT climbs charts worldwide
Billboard's latest charts, dated 30 May and released on 27 May in the US, show that the title track 'It's Me' from ILLIT's fourth mini-album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' rose to number 47 on the Billboard Global (excluding US) chart and number 95 on the Global 200. On the album charts, it also placed No 6 on World Albums and No 15 on Top Dance Albums, signalling the potential for a lengthy run.
The song has also performed notably in Japan. Oricon said ILLIT's new track recorded 5.27 million weekly plays, the highest total for an overseas female group. As a dance challenge highlighting the song's addictive techno beat and distinctive choreography gained traction, cumulative streams passed 16,380,000. It also reached number 7 on Billboard Japan's Hot 100, underscoring strong local popularity.
TikTok videos top 600,000 as challenge spreads among teens and people in their 20s
The track also showed a steep rise on global short-form platforms and domestic charts. It reached number 13 on YouTube's global 'Weekly Popular Songs' chart, marking its third consecutive week on the list. On South Korea's Melon weekly chart it entered at number 20 and has since climbed to number 3, and it has topped the real-time charts of major streaming services such as Bugs and Genie.
Much of the song's runaway popularity has been driven by a viral wave on short-form platforms. The track's punchy melody in short videos has struck a chord with listeners in their teens and people in their 20s, lifting it to number 13 on TikTok Music's 'Viral 50'. The number of TikTok videos related to the song has now passed 600,000, extending its viral momentum.
