The girl group ILLIT will release their new album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' on April 30, making a surprise comeback in the music industry. This is their first album activity since the release of their mini-album 'bomb' last June, drawing the attention of global music fans.
A Unique Album Name Registered in the Guinness Book, Title Track is 'It's Me'
The album name 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' is borrowed from the language of the Yaghan people in the Tierra del Fuego region of southern Chile. This word is listed in the Guinness Book as 'the longest word with the most difficult translation,' carrying a profound meaning of 'a subtle glance exchanged in a situation where two people desire each other but do not want to take the first step.' Based on this unique concept, which resonates with the Korean phrase 'unspoken mutual understanding,' ILLIT plans to present a deeper musical narrative through their title track 'It's Me'.
Successful Seoul Performance... Kicking Off the Asia Tour
With the excitement of their comeback, ILLIT successfully completed their first Asia tour 'ILLIT Live Press Start in Seoul'. The concert held on the 14th and 15th at the Ticketlink Live Arena in Songpa-gu, Seoul, received praise for its sensory direction combining pixel art and role-playing game (RPG) elements.
In particular, the development of 'Save Point,' which does not remain in a completed form but moves to the next stage, proved the infinite growth potential unique to rookie groups. After successfully launching from Seoul, ILLIT is set to embark on a large-scale Asia tour starting in Aichi, Japan on June 13, followed by Osaka, Fukuoka, Hyogo, and Tokyo, culminating in Hong Kong on August 22, solidifying their global presence.
