Seoul Opens Applications for Program to Help International Students Find Jobs, Resolve Visa Issues

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will begin accepting applications on June 18 for 100 participants in a program that provides comprehensive support to help international students settle in Korea and find employment.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said June 15 that it will begin accepting applications on June 18 for 100 participants in the fourth cohort of its tailored support program, '30 Days Around Seoul,' which helps skilled international talent settle into the workforce. The program is designed to systematically support the full process from job hunting to long-term settlement, going beyond simple cultural experiences.

Eligible applicants are international students enrolled at universities in Seoul (including junior colleges and graduate schools) or those who graduated within the past two years. The application period runs from June 18 to July 1.

Boosting employability with practical, job-focused training
The fourth cohort will run for about six to seven weeks, from July 15 to August 28. Participants will take part in roughly 50 hours of specialized lectures and six group cultural experiences. The program focuses on strengthening the practical skills international students need to live and work in Korea.

The main curriculum includes essential residency topics such as labor and immigration law, AI-based job-preparation, resume and cover-letter writing, and business Korean, all designed to boost real-world employability.

Certificate of completion and ongoing post-program benefits
Students who complete the program will receive a certificate issued in the name of the Mayor of Seoul and will receive credit for up to four hours of regular instruction under the Ministry of Justice's Korea Immigration and Integration Program (KIIP).

After completion, participants can also receive continued support through the "Seoul Global Student Support Center," which began full operations last month. The center operates as a one-stop platform integrating employment and entrepreneurship support, visa and residency counseling, and assistance with daily life adjustment.

Lee Young-mi, director of Seoul's Foreign Resident and Immigration Affairs Division, emphasized, "We will spare no effort to improve settlement conditions and provide tailored support so that skilled global talent can remain in Seoul after finishing their studies and fully apply their abilities."
