Girl group ILLIT stormed into the Japanese market on Monday with the immediate release of a teaser for the music video of its new Japan release, featuring a daring twist.

ILLIT (Yoon-ah, Minju, Moeka, Wonhee, Iroha) unveiled a teaser video for the music video of its second Japanese single album title track, “I Got Your Back,” via HYBE LABELS’ official YouTube channel on the 20th.

The video introduces the members in bright school-uniform attire, creating a peaceful mood, before delivering a shocking twist in which someone’s hand transforms into a bizarre monster. The scene, which highlights ILLIT’s signature mysterious universe, maximized global fans’ curiosity and heightened expectations for the full story.

“I Got Your Back,” the title track, is a rock-genre song led by dynamic drum and bass sounds. Even in moments of anxious youth, the lyrics capture a tight-knit friendship in which they protect one another. In particular, Japanese popular singer-songwriter Yuika joined the songwriting, and famed hit composer Kanata Okajima handled composition, raising the song’s completion.
