ILLIT has climbed major music charts in South Korea and overseas with its new song, underscoring the group's global reach.
From Billboard to Oricon, ILLIT climbs charts worldwide
On May 27, U.S. Billboard released its latest charts dated May 30, showing the title track 'It's Me' from ILLIT's fourth mini album MAMIHLAPINATAPAI ranked No. 47 on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart and No. 95 on the Global 200. On the album charts, it reached No. 6 on World Albums and No. 15 on Top Dance Albums, signaling continued momentum for the release.
The group's performance in the Japanese market is also notable. According to Japan's Oricon, ILLIT's new song logged 5.27 million weekly streams—the highest weekly play count among overseas female groups. An addictive techno beat and distinctive choreography helped a popular dance challenge take off, pushing cumulative streams past 16.38 million. The song also reached No. 7 on Billboard Japan's Hot 100, highlighting the group's strong popularity in Japan.
TikTok Videos Top 600,000 as Viral Craze Grips Teens and People in Their 20s
The track rose sharply on global short-form platforms and domestic charts. It hit No. 13 on YouTube's global Weekly Top Songs chart, marking a third consecutive week on that list. On South Korea's Melon weekly chart it entered at No. 20 and recently climbed to No. 3, while topping real-time charts on major streaming services such as Bugs and Genie.
At the heart of this phenomenon is a viral trend driven by short-form video. The song's punchy melody in brief clips has resonated with teens and people in their 20s, landing it at No. 13 on TikTok Music's "Viral 50." Related videos on TikTok have surpassed 600,000, and the track continues to circulate widely on the platform.
