The group BTS has settled into a long-term hit trajectory, achieving consistent results on major U.S. music charts with their new album.
Holds No. 4 on the Billboard 200…Solid long-term success
According to a chart preview article published on the 26th (local time) by U.S. music outlet Billboard, BTS's fifth full-length album 'Arirang (ARIRANG)' reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart dated May 2. Even in its fifth week after release, it remained firmly in the Top 5, demonstrating strong global chart competitiveness.
The album moved a total of 62,000 units that week, showing steady sales momentum. This figure is the sum of physical and digital album sales, streaming (SEA), and downloads (TEA), indicating broad support from general listeners beyond the core fandom.
'BTS 2.0' era begins…North America tour sold out
These achievements are significant in that they lay the groundwork for long-term success beyond short-term hype. The full-length fifth album 'Arirang' is regarded as a work that captures the group's unique identity and future musical direction, a symbolic milestone signaling the official start of the so-called 'BTS 2.0' era.
Alongside the strong chart performance, the North America tour also kicked off successfully. BTS opened the 'BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG IN NORTH AMERICA' at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, U.S., on the 25th. The tour will visit 12 cities, including Mexico City, Las Vegas, and Chicago, for a total of 31 performances.
With all shows sold out well in advance, they will perform at El Paso's Sun Bowl Stadium on May 2 and 3. BTS is the first Korean act to hold a solo concert at that venue, once again confirming their dominant global presence.
