BTS kicked off its large-scale ‘THE CITY’ campaign in Las Vegas, lighting landmarks across the city in red ahead of four concerts at Allegiant Stadium.
‘Arirang’ Theme Turns the City Red
Ahead of its world tour concerts on May 23, 24, 27 and 28 (local time), BTS began a citywide campaign on May 20. The group, which turned the city purple in 2022, this time used red — the signature color of its new release ‘Arirang’ — across the city.
BTS Takes Over Sphere Exterior in Las Vegas
The centerpiece of the event was a display on the exterior of the world's largest spherical performance venue, the Sphere. On performance nights, the Sphere's exterior featured silhouettes of BTS holding traditional Korean lanterns and an image of a giant bell. A message then appeared across the media façade, adding to the visual display seen by fans on site and online. Major landmarks along the Strip, including the High Roller and the Eiffel Tower, were also lit in red, amplifying the festival atmosphere.
All four shows sell out at Allegiant Stadium
Offline events were staged across the city as well. Fireworks choreographed to tracks from the new release, a monorail wrapped in the theme, and immersive media art exhibitions offered attendees a multisensory experience. The citywide festivities are expected to continue from late May into early June.
BTS's Las Vegas run sold out all four shows. About 60,000 fans packed Allegiant Stadium for the opening show on May 23 (local time). Steve Aoki appeared as a surprise guest during the show. BTS told the crowd from the stage, “We sincerely thank everyone who has stood by us for four years.” The comment drew a strong response from fans in attendance.
