BTS will reunite as a full group for its 13th anniversary, using this year's FESTA and a Busan concert to launch a new chapter. The annual celebration 'BTS FESTA', held each year around the group's June 13 debut anniversary, is drawing global fan attention because this year's event marks the full-fledged starting point of the members coming together again.
This year's official FESTA title is '13(B)TS'. With the number 12 representing a complete cycle, the title conveys that the group has completed the past 12 years and is moving forward. By adding a new '1' shared by BTS and their fandom ARMY, it signals a resolve not to rest on past achievements but to keep advancing.
The festival's biggest highlight, 'BTS World Tour Arirang in Busan', will unfold on the 12th and 13th at Busan Asiad Main Stadium. The shows will be BTS's first in Busan in 3 years and 8 months and carry added meaning because Busan is the hometown of members Jimin and Jungkook, and anticipation is peaking over what kind of commanding performance the reunited group will deliver.
A variety of content and special record releases also await fans. On the 12th, a special vinyl titled 'Arirang (613 Limited Edition Picture Disc Vinyl)' will be released, featuring 16 tracks in total, including every song from the fifth studio album and bonus tracks. The group will also release its self-produced variety series 'Run BTS 2.0' on June 10 and 11, and the new song 'Come Over' will be officially released on June 12 as a digital track, adding to the festival's momentum.
Since reuniting as a full group earlier this year, BTS's influence has remained strong. The fifth studio album 'Arirang (ARIRANG)' sold more than 3.5 million copies in its first week alone, dominating global charts. Following a live performance in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, in March that drew tens of thousands, three shows at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in April gathered about 132,000 spectators, reaffirming their ticket-selling power.
The group's global achievements have also been significant. At the American Music Awards in Las Vegas, they won the top prize, 'Artist of the Year', among three awards overall. On a tour across North America and Mexico that covered five cities and 15 shows, they drew 840,000 attendees and sold out every date; they are set to begin the second leg of the North American tour in August.
After 12 solid years, BTS stands at a new starting line with its 13th anniversary and is preparing for another leap. Building on its past achievements, the group is drawing worldwide attention to the new history it aims to write in the global music market.
