The group BTS is expanding its world tour schedule after an overwhelming response from fans around the globe, continuing its global box-office momentum.
BTS officially announced on the global fan community platform Weverse that it will add one Melbourne show to the world tour 'ARIRANG(Arirang)', bringing the tour to a total of 34 cities and 86 shows.
Local fans in Australia, who have waited for years for a solo BTS concert, welcomed the news enthusiastically. After such a long wait, competition for tickets is expected to be intense.
The Sydney concert that follows Melbourne will be held at Accor Stadium, one of Australia's largest venues. The prospect of BTS performing at the iconic venue, which has hosted some of the world's biggest pop stars, has captured the attention of Australia's pop music industry.
BTS's global standing was already demonstrated during its North American tour. U.S. music outlet Consequence praised the Las Vegas show for "overwhelming stage command and an exceptional ability to engage the audience."
After drawing strong reviews in North America, BTS now heads to Oceania, where it is expected to connect with fans worldwide through the Australian shows and notch another significant box-office milestone.
